First seeking this on Adult Swim I thought it would be an action sci-fi animated show. It’s actually a kind of an urban stoner animated comedy about a wolf with a laser on his back and was made by this guy Henry Bonsu. When I was watching this I thought the visuals were pretty colorful. The characters like Lazer Wolf, Canon Wulf, Blazor Wulf, King Yeti, and Stupid Horse, are kind of weird but that’s stoner comedy at times.
Sometimes I felt like this was just going to mindless, mean, and nasty just for the sake of it all but it wasn’t. What I like about the show is the visuals and how some of the characters aren’t the frustrating stupid we see always on Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, and Disney, were they just keep doing dumb stuff over and over all the time.
The visuals seem bright and colorful and its kind of funny how all the people in this show speak in a way that is like jive. Hopefully this show might get another season since I’m game for what Lazor Wulf has in store next time.
I wasn’t sure about watching this sinse I have seen World’s Finest, the Batman Superman cartoon crossover back when I was watching Toonami as a kid. Only really wanted to watch this as a compare and contrast between the cartoon crossover and this live action movie.
I was a bit disinterested since these live action DC films now get attacked for being too dark and unpleasant. Just feels like these movies don’t know want they want to be is all. This movie starts out with young Bruce Wayne watching his parents killed like in the original origin of Batman. He’s played by Ben Affleck, though I have nothing against him but Hollywood says he’s kind of a jerk but correct me if I’m wrong, since I’m not sure. The movie then shows Bruce Wayne in Metropolis during the big fight between Superman and Zod from the last Superman movie, Man of Steel. Bruce loses some people from his company in the crossfire between Superman and Zod and this somehow makes Bruce hate Superman.
Then the movie goes on with Superman story where Lois Lane goes to some African nation and Superman ends up saving her from getting killed. Also where someone finds kryptonite, a mineral that can kill Superman, somewhere in the ocean. After that there becomes this elaborate plot to try to frame Superman for murder or something like that and it starts with the African nation. This part of the movie felt a bit too intricate is all. Also Lex Luthor is played by someone else that looks like he could be his son and he just feels like the Joker but if he was a redhead. Also kind of felt like Lex in this movie has no reason to hate Superman since after Man of Steel, Lex rebuild most of Metropolis.
Along the way Wonder Woman makes a cameo which is a bit out of place since this is supposed to be Batman vs Superman and not Batman versus Superman vs Wonder Woman. Though along the way Batman gets a vision of what might be the future or if the Injustice video game became a movie. Basically where Superman man conquers the world after losing Lois Lane and the Flash’s future self tells Batman to create the Justice League to stop that future.
After Lex Luthor, takes Superman’s mother hostage, he tries to get Batman for help but they end up fighting a bit until Superman mentions his mother’s name and Batman has a change of heart since it was her mother’s name too. Then Lex Luthor somehow makes Doomsday out of Zod’s DNA and from his, and this Doomsday doesn’t feel quite right since in the comics he was supposed to be this super powerful alien. Also he didn’t look like him and just his big grey monster and didn’t have all these spikes on him. Though there is this scene or after he’s nuked he sheds his skin but that’s about it. Then Doomsday somehow can fly and get laser vision even though I didn’t think that was how he was he was just supposed to be this big Powerhouse of strength.
After the big fight somehow Doomsday and Superman get killed but it feels like we barely knew Superman when this happens, also he ends up coming back in Justice League as well anyway. At the end Batman emails, the Flash, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, and Cyborg, to put together the Justice League.
This movie felt okay but I already knew that feeling how these movies have been going now. In the end it just kind of feels like now Hollywood is choosing and doing more of this style over substance with movies. Also feels like they are overpaying for the effects and actors instead of having a good story or good writing. There’s this Ultimate Edition of the movie with more scenes to explain things but it might be a way just for people to buy the DVD or Blu-Ray instead. I feel like if you want to see a better Batman vs Superman crossover, just see Worlds Finest. I might even do a review about THAT then this movie.
This movie is based on the kids’ books of the same name, though I only read the first 4 of the books. Though I hope to check the rest out a bit later if I can. Then I started watching this when I found out Weird Al Yankovich did one of the songs. Watched this on Netflix and it seemed to be what it made out to be. A harmless kids movie that is self-aware and has a lot of juvenile potty humor in it. It’s nothing like having actual poop and actual pee since that would end up being dirty. There are also some different animation styles in this, like one scene where these sock puppets. As well as the flip-o-rama the books had where you just flip the pages back and forth for the action.
The movie also takes some of the books plots in it as well. This movie made me want to read the rest of the Captain Underpants books to see how far the books have been going. They also made a Captain Underpants tv show on Netflix and it gets the tone from the movie and books pretty well. Give this a watch since it’s like your inner child coming out at times with this movie.
Hearing about this reboot of the CGI cartoon in the 1990’s, Reboot. I was excited and hoped it would pick up a bit later after the show ended. Since the original show ended on a cliffhanger that didn’t get a resolution. Instead, we get a Power Rangers rip off show where out the main villain is some dirty hacker called The Sorcerer and he’s pretty typical in this show.
Binged the first season on Netflix and it just seemed okay and the last episode I was a bit excited, but also a bit insulted. Hope this next season, if they make one, gets better and more fleshed out. Though some people on YouTube say it’s getting worse but I’ll give it a watch myself before I think that.
I didn’t get a chance seeing this in theaters since I thought this movie would be the final nail in the coffin for Star Wars. Also thought Star Wars: the Clone Wars CGI cartoon seemed like every other cartoon when if first saw it. Might give it another chance though since there’s so much praise for the CGI cartoon. People kept telling me J.J. Abrams took over the production for this but I when I wanted to see it in theaters, it was too late.
Then I rented it at the library and Star Wars: The Force Awakens really felt like a Star Wars movie when watching the opening scene. After that the plot feels like Star Wars: A New Hope at times but the movie has a lot of heart and effort. Even has a leading lady and cameos from the original cast as well. Also the CGI in the movie isn’t overdone and everyone sounds amazing in this.
If your a Star Wars fan or if you think the Star Wars franchise is old and dying, give this a watch. Since it really breathes life into an almost dead franchise.
I saw this on Amazon Prime Video a couple months ago. I was surprised that it also is an exclusive to Amazon Video too. It doesn’t have the puppets like in the original Thunderbirds but CGI and maybe some miniatures as sets for wide angle shots. It starts with International Rescue and the Tracey’s trying to stop the Hood, the main villain of the show.
The scenes where the rockets take off are also amazing and almost like watching a real rocket take off. Also the guy with the glasses is called Brains and he’s Indian now for some reason. He even tags along for a bit too in some episodes as well.
I love the retro future this show takes place in, and it makes it feel almost like the original Thunderbirds at times. You should take a look when you can and have an Amazon Prime Video account. It’s perfect for kids and it isn’t too violent for little kids too so give it a watch when you can.
I remember this show when I was about 16 on ABC Family when they had the Jetix kids block. The story is set in the near future of 2082. Where earth makes first contact with some aliens I think 10 years before, they to invade earth but stop for some reason.
Are protagonist is Eva going under the name “Molly” after escaping boarding school on her 15th birthday to meet her father. Then this weird pod shows up for the great race of Oban to pick up the Earth Team along with Molly. They all arrive on the planet Alwas for the start up matches. There’s then opening ceremony before the races with some mysterious person called “the Avatar”. Telling everyone that’s there, as well as the racers, the ground rules for the racing and that if you kill a racer your disqualified. Then during the fist race with the Earth Team ends up with some problems as well as some flashbacks to Molly’s past.
I didn’t get to see this entire series end since Jetix went to Disney X D or Toon Disney and I couldn’t get those channels. Anyway it’s also this French and Japanese co production has some twists and turns as well as good writing. I got this from Amazon video through Shout! Factory and I think anyone can get the downloads for about 11 dollars. There’s also the DVD’s but their kinda of overpriced. Well this show is a classic and you should give it a watch when you can or want to.
I saw this in theaters a couple of months ago and it was beautiful. Even though the trailers make it look okay but the overall story is amazing and the cast is superb. Especially the interaction between the bunny and the fox through the movie.
Starts with the bunny growing up and becoming a cop. Then meeting the fox after going to Zootopia as they both uncover a conspiracy through the city. Overall the story, animation, and the writing is top notch and the best we can get from Disney now.
Go and see this if you haven’t since this is an instant classic for Disney.
I remember watching this I think on Adult Swim a long time ago. They showed this movie bit by bit and I thought it was pretty amazing compared to the live action movies. Also as you can see I saw this at 2nd and Charles and just got it when I did. The movie starts out with an amazing opening and explains this kinda weird story but then again this was the 1980’s, and a cartoon. Also it has Burgess Meredith as some kind of underground leader halfway though. Also the rest of the cast seems pretty good voicing there roles, as well as Sargent Slaughter. There’s also a lot of strobe effects and flashes so if your kid or adult is prone to seizures or epilepsy this might not be the right movie for you. The ending is also pretty good and there’s a lot of action in this movie for kids. This DVD also has the PSA Announcements in the special features as well.
Anyway this is so much better then those live action movies story wise and plot wise. Give it a watch when you can but be careful with people with seizures or epilepsy because of the strobe effect.
I remember this came out around the same time as Batman the Animated Series started to end. Unlike Batman the Animated Series, Superman the Animated Series started with his origin. Pretty much everyone knows his origin basically is Moses with aliens.
Well it’s not on par with the Batman cartoons it still has its own finesse and some good moments at times. The voice work is also pretty good and Clancy Brown as Lex Luthor is real good. It even does a little cross over on the 3rd season with Batman called world’s finest.
Also at the end of the Superman cartoons I was surprised what happened to him. Especially how the people thought of Superman after all of that.
